PACO Program's Committee has been busy coordinating General Membership meetings which are held monthly via Zoom from 12 Noon-1:00 p.m. We are excited to welcome Heidi Wagner Dorn, Of Counsel, with Dismore who will be presenting on the topic of “Ethical Considerations for Paralegals".

Heidi has nearly two decades of experience handling administrative, ethics, and litigation matters. She is able to use her diverse experience to provide clients with a unique perspective of their cases. As an attorney who worked closely with the Board of Professional Conduct and the disciplinary bodies that handle complaints against lawyers, Heidi has an unmatched understanding of the Rules of Professional Conduct and disciplinary-related issues. She is able to leverage her knowledge to advise attorneys, law firms, and bar applicants about ethical and legal malpractice issues and the best way to handle letters of inquiry, prospective ethical and legal questions, and other disciplinary matters. She provides clients an honest, straight-forward analysis of their ethical and legal issues and offers insightful strategies and advice to assist them to achieve the best possible outcome.

She focuses her practice on assisting lawyers with ethical issues, including providing confidential ethics consultations and opinions, and comprehensive representation in disciplinary actions and bar admission matters in Ohio. Heidi also represents health care clients in administrative hearings and appeals as well as other regulatory matters. She formerly served as counsel at the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Board of Professional Conduct where provided guidance to the Board; assisted lawyers and law firms with ethical inquiries; and presented on ethical issues to lawyers and judges. Heidi’s practice has also included service as an Ohio assistant attorney general, where she represented the State Medical Board of Ohio and other licensing agencies, and as a magistrate and staff attorney for Judge W. Duncan Whitney in the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.

Heidi regularly presents at seminars on ethical issues for lawyers and law students throughout the United States. She recently joined the paralegal program at Capital University Law School as an adjunct professor and previously taught in the paralegal program at Columbus State Community College.
